Landscapes

Even though I shoot mostly events, weddings and the such, I am also quite fond of landscape photography.

The other day, one of my friends invited me to take bird with him, take pictures of birds in flight. He brought along a 600mm f/4, a 400mm f/2.8, and a 70-200mm f/2.8. I assumed that he was going to let me borrow either his 400 or 600, but turns out he was pretty stingy :(

He didn’t even let me touch either of his super telephoto lenses …. Booooo…

(I do see where he comes from though. I wouldn’t want anybody else touching my $7000+ gear.)

So, I put on my little 8mm f/3.5 Rokinon fisheye and took a couple of pictures.

So, the lesson today is that you shouldn’t let your lack of expensive gear hinder you.

I used a $250 lens to take this picture and didn’t let my lack of a super telephoto keep me from taking pictures!

(I did use photomatix pro to made this into an HDR image.)
